Tenissa Ray has been in pharmacy for over 15 years and received her pharmacy technician certification from Virginia College with honors. She has her B.S. in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix and is currently studying for her Master of Science in Public Health with the University of Phoenix. Throughout her pharmacy career, she has acquired knowledge and experience in several aspects of pharmacy such as retail, long-term care, mail order, and currently hospital. Presently, Tenissa is the Competency and Education Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and Pharmacy Technician Certification Program Coordinator for Prisma Health System. She is also an sterile compounding instructor for the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center (KPIC) program. Her extensive experience is in USP 797, USP 800, sterile products, chemotherapy, TPN admixtures, and OR preparations. She has played a big role in creating training programs and conducting accredited continuing education lectures and in-services focusing on USP 797. Tenissa has spent several years devoting time to educate and train new residents, interns, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians.
