Marc Summerfield, RPh, MS, is the president of Summerfield Consulting, which he recently established after serving as director of pharmacy at the University of Maryland Medical Center for 12 years. He has faculty appointments at the UMB School of Pharmacy and the Notre Dame of Maryland University School of Pharmacy. Marc received his BS in pharmacy at the University of Connecticut, his MS in institutional pharmacy at the University of Maryland, and completed a pharmacy residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. His professional interests include pharmacy automation, drug distribution, medication safety, and business writing.
