Pharmacy has made some strides toward increased compliance this year. 61% of facilities have a RCRA-characteristic waste program, and although 70% use RCRA-hazardous containers, only 45% have a designated long-term storage area for this waste. While the number of pharmacies properly disposing of RCRA-characteristic waste increased this year, they are still in the minority.
