This August, PP&P polled a random, nationwide sampling of health system pharmacy directors regarding the factors driving their generic drug purchasing decisions. We received a total of 357 responses, yielding a confidence interval of 5.02% (95% +/- 5.02).
The results show a general satisfaction with generic manufacturers, as more products are now available in unit dose. Simultaneously, pharmacy directors are purchasing from more sources in search of the best prices and quality, however most of those purchases are on-contract, as GPOs receive high ratings for their price negotiations.
