Forms Generator and Management System Meta, Inc announces the release of MetaCare IntelliDocs, an intelligent forms generator and management system. Using flexible, user-defined forms that are customized to meet a hospital’s needs, practices, and standards, IntelliDocs integrates with a facility’s main information system to eliminate redundant data entry and illegible, manually entered data that may have been collected incorrectly. With MetaCare IntelliDocs, once data is entered into a form, the system will not only search and retrieve historical records, but will also complete as much of the form based on historical data as possible. Completed forms become a permanent part of the patient’s EMR with access provided to patient care information from within the clinical record.

Oral Dispensers
EPS announces their new Oral Dispensers, available in four sizes—1, 3, 5, and 10 ml—in either clear or ultraviolet-inhibitant amber. EPS’s Oral Dispensers contain an innovative one-piece plunger construction that eliminates rubber grommets and silicone coating, facilitating an easy sliding of the plunger through the barrel. The dispensers are completely latex-free and contain graduations in both milliliters and fractionated teaspoon measurements. The Oral Dispensers have a tip designed for oral and topical dispensing applications, which also prohibits acceptance of hypodermic needles. The low-capacity tip reservoir reduces residual content, ensuring maximum delivery of medication.

Automated Dispensing and Verification System
Kirby Lester unveils its first fully automated technology: the KL30 automated dispensing and verification system. The KL30 is sized and priced for any hospital outpatient pharmacy that processes from 100 to 1,000 prescriptions per day and utilizes drug-specific cassettes to fully automate the hands-free dispensing of a pharmacy’s top 30 oral solid medications. All other medications can simply be poured into the funnel, automating the dispensing of 100% of all oral solids. The KL30 also automates the verification of all prescriptions, not just oral solids. Cassettes hold up to 650cc, and each cassette is encoded and shaped for specific medications to prevent dispensing errors.
