Given the challenges that often accompany specialty medication management, it is not surprising that 34% of health systems across the country have established their own specialty pharmacies. Nevertheless, the pressure to accept white and brown bagging with no increase in reimbursement continues apace. Few facilities have found success when requesting reimbursement for these practices.
