PP&P’s national survey of 374 pharmacy directors solicited responses from pharmacy leaders representing an array of pharmacy practice, including a range of facility sizes, locations, and levels of automation expertise. This year was marked by positive trends in budget expansion and increased automation adoption. Supporting the increased utilization of technology, most hospitals committed to implementing facility-wide wireless networks, and support increased this year for expanding pharmacy staff. In particular, there was a 6% increase over last year in the number of facilities with dedicated pharmacy informaticists on staff.
