As pharmacists are looking to robotic compounding and outsourcing as options in the effort to modernize the compounding complex, automated compounders have not enjoyed high levels of interest. Automated compounders are used in 24% of hospitals, down from a high of 39% 6 years ago. While still highly rated, these devices did experience a small drop in satisfaction rating this year, while the number of facilities planning to purchase new compounders held steady at 10%.
