Despite high satisfaction ratings and reliability, physician order imaging systems are a declining market class. Although they remain popular in small to mid-sized facilities, as CPOE implementations increase, the rate of implementation for these systems is expected to slow, particularly in larger facilities. Nonetheless, physician order imaging systems will continue to be utilized as a secondary system for many hospitals unable to adopt CPOE in all departments for 100% of their ordering.
