Choosing a Vendor

1. Identify systems that are compatible with your current in-house wireless network to reduce further implementation costs.
2. Monitor the strength of the wireless signal at potential transmitter locations prior to purchasing and implementing the product. Ensuring that a sufficiently strong signal is present at each device location will help alleviate unforeseen installation roadblocks.
3. In the event that wireless network upgrades are necessary, plan and budget for those upgrades before installing the wireless temperature monitoring system. 
4. Speak with colleagues at other facilities using the systems under consideration; vendors should be able to provide a list of facilities currently using their product. The vendor’s efficiency in providing this list will serve as an indicator of their commitment to customer service. 
5. Test the report management software of each system to determine whether it can provide easily accessible reports that meet the requirements of inspecting bodies.
