The PASport System from Performance Assurance Systems is designed by pharmacists to validate the HEPA filter function to help maintain sterility. The system verifies integrity twice a year to ensure filters are working properly and are free of leaks without employing invasive methods such as requiring that the cleanroom ceilings be opened. Even if an injection port has been installed to perform the introduction of the medium used to test for leaks in the filters, this may not offer complete validation. Once the medium is introduced, the quantity that reaches the filter must be determined so that the certifier can then calibrate their equipment and scan for a minute amount (0.01%) coming through, which would constitute a leak in the filter. The PASport System allows users to validate the full process.
