Engineering Controls—BSCs/CAIs
The safety and dependability delivered by PECs is widely appreciated by pharmacy. LAFWs and BSCs are ubiquitous throughout hospital pharmacies with CAIs and CACIs also enjoying adoptions in one third of all hospital pharmacies. The PEC vendors continue to engender strong customer satisfaction marks year after year.
Most facilities utilize a variety of engineering controls to accomplish their compounding goals. LAFWs and BSCs enjoy particularly widespread adoption rates.
The most commonly utilized BSC is the Class II, Type 2 model.
The Baker Company and Nuaire lead this market segment.
While CACIs are typically located within the HD cleanroom, CAIs are more likely to be utilized in both the cleanroom and the segregated compounding area. Just 3% of facilities continue to use isolators outside of the compounding complex.
Nuaire leads this highly rated marketplace, followed by The Baker Company, Germfree, and Isotech Design.
