The refrigeration market is expected to be quite busy in the near term. Pharmacy will be expanding the number of units purchased both for the cleanroom and the general pharmacy. Nursing units, which have been slower to adopt medical grade refrigeration, are making a strong commitment to this important technology. Just 55% of hospitals currently use medical grade refrigeration exclusively on the units, so it is heartening to see that 45% of hospitals plan to add additional medical grade refrigeration on the units over the next few years. The wide array of vendors in this marketplace receives strong ratings from their users, thus providing a variety of solid options to ensure safe medication storage.
Four out of every 10 pharmacy directors plan to purchase additional medical grade refrigerators for their pharmacy over the next 3 years.
Refrigeration purchasing is also expected to be brisk on the units as 45% of hospitals plan to expand the number of medical grade refrigerators on the nursing units over the next 3 years.
Helmer, Follett, and Thermo Fisher Scientific are the leading vendors under consideration by those facilities planning to purchase new refrigeration units. It is notable that one-third of those looking to make a purchase in this segment have yet to identify their vendor options.
