CARDENE® I.V. (nicardipine hydrochloride) Premixed Injection is indicated for the short-term treatment of hypertension when oral therapy is not feasible or not desirable. For prolonged control of blood pressure, transfer patients to oral medication as soon as their clinical condition permits.
CARDENE I.V. Premixed Injection is a ready-to-use formulation of nicardipine hydrochloride. This calcium ion influx inhibitor (slow channel blocker or calcium channel blocker)1 is available in 200 mL ready-to-use bags in the following dosage strengths:
0.1 mg/mL in 0.86% sodium chloride (NDC number 24477-311-02)
0.1 mg/mL in 4.8% dextrose (NDC number 24477-312-02)
0.2 mg/mL in 0.83% sodium chloride (NDC number 24477-323-02)
0.2 mg/mL in 5% dextrose (NDC number 24477-324-02)
As a ready-to-use formulation, CARDENE I.V. eliminates medication admixture errors. It is immediately available for rapid intervention and enables practical point-of-use storage.
